Back in the early days of Pokemon GO, evolving your Eevee was a bit of a gamble. There were no evolution stones which are normally required to evolve Eevee into one of its core evolutions: Flareon, Jolteon or Vaporeon

Later on, Niantic introduced some neat tricks to ensuring you evolve your Eevee into the elemental creature you want.
When they added the ability to get Umbreon and Espeon in the game, they included the same name trick. Sadly, these name tricks only work once on each Pokemon GO account!
